Some fighters want hype. Others want dread. We graded twenty years of cage walkouts on tempo, tuning and pure intimidation.
A walkout song has one job: tell the other fighter, the crowd and yourself exactly who is about to step into the cage. We built a scoring system around three things: tempo, heaviness and the look on the opponent's face.
How We Scored
- Tempo: does it match the walk?
- Weight: how low is the tuning, how thick is the mix?
- Dread: would you want to fight this person?
If the walkout song does not scare me a little, it is the wrong song.
